The Embassy hosted a reception on 26 January 2017 to celebrate the Republic Day of India. It was also to launch the year-long festivities to mark 70 years of India's independence and 25 years of India-Ukraine diplomatic relationship. H.E. Ms. Olga Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Ambassador of India to Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Manoj K. Bharti read speech in Hindi language and the translation in English and Ukrainian language were displayed prominently on the screen. Thereafter, six well-known personalities of Ukraine, who have worked for the betterment of India-Ukraine relations were given certificates of honour. They are H.E. Mr. Valentyn Adomaytis, Mrs. Svitlana Gritsai, Mrs. Olga Lukash, Mr. Yuriy Biletskyi, Mrs. Valentyna Ustinova and Mrs. Olena Bordilovska. It was followed by a colourful cultural programme performed by local dance groups and a well-known choir group La VIVo from Lviv.
The event was held at a prestigious venue. Nearly 400 guests from various government Ministries, Ministers, Members of Parliament, members of diplomatic corps, academicians, businessmen and Indian citizens attended the function. The function was held on a grand scale including a sit-down dinner format for the reception. A few photographs of the event are enclosed.
